It’s November 30, the last day of NaNoWriMo. It was a wonderful run for me and my characters. We started out with a good lead, almost 3000 words on Nov 1. The characters were more than happy to talk to me, including Lord Tromadin – the bad guy slated to die at the end of the book – insisted that this story just couldn’t be told without his viewpoint. Turns out he had some interesting things to say throughout the book.
The other day at my local Target, I was just stepping up to my turn at the checkout when I got a call from agency (interpreting). Considering that any communication with my agency could lead to money, I consider it too important to just ignore. At the same time I was about to engage in another (money related) activity. So I did the only thing I could think of to keep everything right – I answered with a quick “Can I call you back in a couple of seconds?” waited for the assent and hung up. Turning to the clerk I was shocked by her response:
It’s been a while since I’ve written here. As you can see there are no archives for you to look back and see when. That’s because my website got hacked. Someone out there thought it would be a good idea to take over my site and have it collect information for them. I’m not sure what they thought they were going to get out of my site, or if they even thought of that at all. All I know is that I had some trouble uploading a post one night and the next thing I know Sweetie is on the phone with our provider saying “Go ahead – blow it all away.”
